Last weekend, after have seen an interesting electronic show by Otomo Yoshihide, an amazing classical show by Grigory Sokolov i've made a concert really satisying.Where electronica were softened for a less orthodox concept of itself. And I am glad to announce german IkoMusic will release remixes from my cd "Superanima" really soon.

Today we have filmed in Prato a new clip for the song "Sicilian yell for Ayaan Hirsi Ali" with me and Cinzia Ravaglia as dancer, max the assistant and Piergiorgio De Pinto the director.
Don't want to comment the controversial figure of AHA, everybody have their opinions...but the song start with a sicilian old woman's lament which develops in a zaire female voice, on a electro-rock base...the result is a totally new voice which reminds me a mad sciamanic character.

I saw her for the first time in 1994, Wien, "Ein Trauerspiele"
Unforgettable

I was young, and lucky to have such an important example of art already in my youthness..thanks Nedo

Then I did follow her in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Palermo, Barcelona and so on....
Everytime i went to her shows i brought with me a CD of my music...and i gave it to her..
I "knocked " on her shoulder , say "ciao" and ask her if she could accept it..she smiled, asked me about the music..gave me her attention for those important seconds, and then thanks me..and i said "thanks" too...then i returned on my seat and the lights turned off

sunday 5 july i went in Spoleto, the place of her debut when she was only a dancer, to see "Bamboo Blues"....i had my CD in my bag, as usual.......

Hello, a new album is arriving! For the end of the year it will be out!
German label Crippled Dick Hot Wax has released the official soundtrack of "Otto, Up with dead people" by Bruce LaBruce in cd and vynil version. La Jovenc is on the compilation!
A new contract with Planet Origo, a norwegian label related with Origo Sound, will distributes and sells phisically and for downloading my first two albums: "Sulla natura delle cose" (2002) and "Lo-Fi Apocrypha" (2003)..
my friend Barbara had a interesting book, i bought it..written by Ayaan Hirsi Ali..i love it!
Next week my analyst wants to ipnotize me...there is someone who can accompany me?

E' quasi pronto il mio nuovo lavoro "The opposite of orange", su cui da tempo stavo lavorando.
"Opposto" di arancione, o forse sarebbe meglio "complementare" all'arancione: il blu.

Questo lavoro è infatti una delle possibilità di sintesi tra elettronica e blues, quest'ultimo mai direttamente toccato (il titolo stesso non lo nomina, forse per riguardo ad un genere così spesso banalizzato), ma evidente nelle strutture (anche quando sono elettroniche), nelle composizioni, nella forza e nel mistero autentici -io spero- di un jazz (perchè in realtà è jazz il veicolo) oscuro, magico, "geroglifico".

Un tipo di jazz più elaborato forse, pur rimanendo primitivo (ed a mia opinione più affascinante) e comunque emotivamente legato alle sue radici: il blues.

Ho cercato di proporre, io italiano, bianco etc etc qualcosa che rispecchiasse gli aspetti universali, profondi ed affascinanti del genere in un contesto (quello contemporaneo-elettronico) aperto alla trasformazione e alla mescolanza.

My new work “the Opposite Of Orange” is nearing completion following several months of preparation.

The “opposite” of orange or perhaps more accurately a “complement” to orange: blue.

“The Opposite Of Orange” represents one possible synthesis of electronica and blues, whilst making no real attempt to deliver ‘the blues’. Even the title avoids naming the blues overtly to steer clear of an overused and often misused term.

Blues, or I hope perhaps a dark, magical and ‘hieroglyphic’ jazz, is evident in the structure, composition, feeling and mystery (in reality jazz is the vehicle for this work).

Perhaps an elaborate form of jazz, though still primitive (and in my opinion more fascinating). It is highly emotive and closely tied to its roots: which I intend when I say the blues.

I have attempted to present something ( as a white, Italian etc etc ) which nevertheless respects something of the universal, deep and fascinating appeal of the blues in a context (electronic-contemporary) open to transformation and blending of genres.
